Almost Crawling

As you can see, she has her belly up and a determined smirk on her face. The poor thing can only go backwards though. She will see something she wants (like paper) and get into crawling position. Then, much to her dismay, she scootches away from the desired object and her dreams become further from reach.

Annabella also has her first tooth and a second must be close behind. Can you see the string of drool coming from her chin? It kinda shines in the camera light.

We had cake and ate it too.

We had a special wedding at our church last month. I volunteered to make the cake. That was a bad idea, I've never made a stacked cake before. I thought I could do it for my own wedding and failed then. Not sure why I thought this would be different. There were several moments in the process where the trash can got aweful close to the cake. However, with the help of Youtube.com and Mark we pulled it off! It even tasted good.
I also have concluded that I will not be starting a cake decorating business any time soon.

Cousins!!

Jonas and Annabella finally got to play with their cousins! Jonas and Ella found a common love, which was to paint their feet with water and then walk on construction paper. Each had their own methods of painting.

I have a headache

I was trying to teach him to help unload the dishwasher. He discovered this all by himself. Can you believe that Annabella slept through it?

Roll over, roll over

Annabella is finally starting to roll! She rolled once each way about a month ago just so that she could tell the doctor she was normal, but hasn't done it since. During the last two days she has discovered a reason to put forth the effort. And what better reason than to look at that pretty baby in the mirror!

Learning to be a big brother

Jonas of course has had a lot to learn about baby sisters in the last few months. He adores his "Annaba." He loves to hug her, and kiss her, and touch her eyes, and squeeze her cheeks, and throw toys at her... There is so much experimenting to do with a baby. The poor guy has to go to time out so often. When he sits in the corner he will shout, "Hey Mommy, sorry Baby!" It suprisingly doesn't sound all that sincere.

Survival skills

Jonas loves TV. Annabella loves TV. When I turn the TV on, it's like turning the children off. What a horrible temptation for me. I can achieve so much when the electronic babysitter is on! However, every time I turn it on the little devil and angel sit on my shoulders (just like in the cartoons) telling me "It's ok, everyone does it," or "your are robbing your children of the ability to think on their own!" So, I have decided that for one week (ok 5 days)I will not turn on any cartoons during the day. I am very curious to see how this will change our days.

Open Mic

The picture shows Jonas using a pull up bar as a microphone. We're not sure where he got the idea, but he sure thinks it is a good one. His Uncle Erik requested that he sing us all a song. The song was peppy and quick. It went, "Jesus (pause pause) take away our sins (pause) wa wa wa wa." We also aren't sure where he got the idea to make up a song about Jesus. Maybe it is a variation of "Jesus Loves Me?"

Yesterday was Annabella's 4 month check up. Turns out she is healthy and huge! She is 15 1/2 pounds which puts her in the 92% range for weight for her age. She already is wearing 6-9 month clothes and a smile to go with it. As the pictures show, if she is awake, she is happy! How blessed we are to have such a joyful personality in the house! (Not that the rest of us are grumpy all the time.)

Nap Time

We purchased this lovely tent from Ikea for only $10 and it has been a lovely source of joy for Jonas. He decided that he should nap in the tent one day. What a suprise that he was able to calm down enough to actually sleep for 2 hours!

WELCOME!

Welcome to the Parsons' family blog! We have decided to start this blog to share pictures and stories with those we love because life is too funny and interesting not to share. We named our blog "From the Lips of Children" after the Bible passage "From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise." Matthew 21:16. While raising two little blessings we have witnessed this and want to share it with you. (And also a few things that may not fit under the catagory of praise:) )
